On this eve [January 5th, 2009], I entered the Black Dragon Inn after receiving a tip from my informant on the street that the individual matching the male demon [Derrick] was present. I entered accompanied by Detective Kassad and Arms-Corporal Ratholta to assist in serving this high risk warrant.
The individual was arrested and taken into custody without incident inside of an otherwise crowded Inn. He was then led back to the Guardhouse for processing, though not alone. Several witnesses and interviewees wished to give numerous statements regarding the suspected demon.
Tilythia, the part-time barmaid at the Inn filed an assault charge against [Derrick] for his assault on a non-cognizant creature known as "Batty." Tilythia alleges that [Derrick] used his own "demonic" blood to infect this creature, which has led to it's deteriorating state of, as she describes, "evil." The informant working for me on this case can also confirm this, but wishes to remain nameless until the charges are proven or he/she is called upon as a witness. I'm considering the information given to me from this source to be reliable.
A third witness, Tilythia's husband, Dhamizad, is also acting as a witness that something "malignant" has been introduced into the body of Batty. This individual fancies himself as an expert hunter of demons and vampires - self proclaimed, of course.
As if this were not enough, a fourth witness, Antekkereh, was also present to give a contradictory statement to all of this. Being a said cohort of [Derrick], she alleges that the suspected demon "offered" his blood to Batty, which saved him and restored vitality to him without it possessing any demonic attributes. She also claims that Batty is the same creature he was prior to being "offered" the blood of [Derrick] and has not experienced any changes described by Dhamizad and Tilythia.
Also of note is that while in custody, [Derrick] seemed unresponsive to a holy water test, leading to some speculation over the charge that he is a demon. However, I am not certified in such a field as making a professional determination on whether one is or is not a vampire or demon. That is being left up to the presiding Magistrate in this case.
Right now he is being held on one count of assault for the theory that he did infect Batty with demonic blood and he is also being held under suspicion of being a demon. The latter is a charge to be assessed by a certified member of the Crown experienced in making such a determination.
Pending further investigation and examination into whether or not [Derrick] is indeed a demon, Antekkereh may soon face charges of aiding and abetting. For now, however, she remains but a "person of interest" in this case.
Signed,
~Idelle Sarault, Arms-Sergeant
[Attached: I would like to personally commend Arms-Corporal Ratholta for his valued efforts in going well above and beyond his normal duties on this case. He tirelessly interviewed many of the witnesses in our interrogation rooms at the Guardhouse for an extensive ammount of time in an attempt to get to the bottom of this case.]
