III. 478, I was summoned to the King's inn by its cook to assist the Royal Guard. I arrived at the inn to find Arms-Lieutenant Trayin and Armsman Kypree battling a demon and the young woman who had summoned it. I was soon joined by Arms-Commander Riknueth and Arms-Sergeant Sarault. The five of us were on the point of destroying the demon when it leapt out the window, taking its summoner with it. Should you encounter the summoner or her demon (descriptions of Rain and Nara follow), attack them without provocation; they are extremely dangerous. They claimed that Hyena had been attacked more than one time by a girl by the name of Taina White. Si Howe has also expressed fear of Taina White. Hyena had come bandaged and was apperantly close to death after the last attack. In conducting a little investigation into the attacks I've discovered that Taina White is possibly incapable of controlling her violent tendancies and rage. Research into a file she has shows that she has served jail time at the guardhouse for similar acts of violence. She should be removed from the streets before further incidents occur. It is quite likely she can be apprehended without a violent encounter, however if promted she should be considered extremely dangerous. A few months past (reference to specific report that mun cannot recall) I filed a report about eggs planeted inside an individual having. The eggs in question ended up hatching during their extraction. After dispatching the creatures from the eggs and filing the report nothing more came of this. Now some months later it has occured again in exactly the same fashion. I arrived on the scene after being summoned by a young woman named Isabella. Dusan Neuvirth was already on the scene and many bystanders had assembled to either help or to gawk. No sooner had the situation been appraised to me I realized that this was a repeat incident. Without haste a man named Theslan extracted the eggs by performing an emergency surgery in the inn. As a sad side note much property in the Blk Dragon Inn was sullied by blood lossed by the victem. The eggs were in the process of hatching, and based on our experience and violence of the last encounter with these creatures the executive decision was made to burn the fiendish things before becoming active and causing havoc, or worse, escaping. While it would have been of great use to retain samples for study and possibly learn the location of their origin, it was better they be destroyed so not to cause more harm than good. We did learn that the man came from the Red Lantern district, in both cases both individuals have originally come from the Red Lantern district. This may be some plot by an internal or external influence to cause mass infection. It may simply be a nest of natural creatures breeding in their own way. It may also be something as simple as a new disease the working girls of the Red Lantern are carrying. Whatever the source it must be handled and exterminated. I have applied what assets and informents I have to search for more clues. I will be conducting follow ups on this in the next couple of days. While the murder of Lord Keyes is more high profile, I am requesting assets to prevent or at least contain what could be an outbreak of some kind of disease or locust infestation before it consumes our city. Answer her call expecting to be shown someone or something in the rafters she explains she wanted a challenge and a hunter to slay her. Perplexed by this I spoke with her, she did not burn in my presence and did not reak of the dead. She finally asked to be arrested and even cuffed herself. Once inside of a cell she confessed she was neither a vampire nor undead, I knew as much but humored her to get her out of the public eye. She is of a subteranean race known as the Barra who dwell under a mountain range north of the Kingdom of Arangoth. Apperantly the custom of their race and her position as life ward is to heal the nobility of their people. She was no longer needed when her life ward died of natural causes and was thus ordered to die. Unable to do the deed herself she attempted to commit suicide by getting a Royal Guard or vampire hunter to do it for her. Without proper cause she cannot be detained but has agreed to stay at the Guardhouse to be looked after for the time being. It may be a good idea for her to be taught the value of life so that she may become a contributing citizen of the kingdom of Arangoth. I intend to look more into this supposed subteranean kingdom she claims to have come from, by her description it may be within Arangothian realms but she was vague and I cannot be sure. With this situation I am not the expert and will need either suggestions or orders from higher with what to do with this woman. What began as a routine petty assault and robbery quickly escalated into a tale of abduction and imposed slavery. (Attached is the statement of Isabella Frost detailing her capture, enslavement, and ultimate escape) I had her place herself on the map at two different points of her tale. The first at the time of capture, while on the way home she took a short cut through an ally behind the merchant square where she was attacked. The second place was where she thought it most likely that she escaped from. It should be noted that she pointed directly at the same circle of manors where the Lord Keyes estate slaying took place. I need no provokation and took immediate action, launching a brief all night investigation into the crime in question. To ease her state of mind I allowed Isabella to follow, she proved to be a valuable source of information indeed. The more exposed to the scenes of the crime the more she seemed to recall and the more detail she alotted me. In the allyway I could find nothing to indicate the scuffle except the broken wagon. I performed a divination to watch the events that transpired, thanks to Isabella who knew to the day of the attack I was able to watch her be attacked, threatened at knife point, tied, and walked off. A man matching the following details is responsible for the abduction, he appeared to be lying in wait for any female passer by: (Detailed description of Artirus`Black follows). I recognize the man from out and about but at this moment I know not his name. I could only observe in my divined state, and then follow the imprint left from his action. Their first stop was a worn out shack in the wharf district, I have since dispatched a squad from my platoon to properly detail every inch of it for clues or evidence. From the shack we followed the imprinted and fading vision to the very manor of Lord Keyes. There was no sneaking in, but as soon as he opened the gate and stepped in the vision halted and I walked headlong into an antimagic field of potent make. It is likely that the previous owner may tried very hard to prevent scrying from the foul deeds done within that house. I have delayed going into the manor for the time being, as Isabella needed rest and I wanted to collect a team for a thorough investigation, for at this time no magic will penetrate the grounds of the house. It is possible that some item is the focal point of this antimagic field surrounding the Keyes grounds, without locating the source and dispelling or destroying it, it will take very careful and old fashioned grunt work to solve this. Outside of the manor Isabella talked about another prisoner brought to her cell. A drow no less, a drow that I believe is the one that was witnessed fleeing the scene. This drow (a detailed description of Kendra follows) as described by Isabella, had picked her own cuffs and locks to the cell. It is very likely she extracted some toll on the owners of the manor, as when she returned some hour later to free Isabella there was no sign of life within the house and Isabella made her escape without seeing even a body or a drop of blood. I can verify that Isabella is absolved of any wrong doing here, she is clearly a victem of some perverse gentleman's club, and in questioning her further she had nothing to do with nor did she even know anyone had been killed that night. Unless identified among the dead then it is safe to assume that the man responsible for taking Isabella is still at large, and it is without a shadow of a doubt that our drow is as well. While I do not doubt the arrogance of the dark elves, I do not suspect she would stick around the city of Drache for long if at all. As for the man I have dubbed Man In Black (Artirus`Black) should be apprehended on sight and considered quite dangerous. There will be more to follow and I dare not ask for greater resources but if there are other members of the Royal Guard who would be willing to extend their normal shifts to aid in the investigation it would be greatly appreciated. Our country, not ourselves.
