From isis_bladedancer at yahoo.com Fri May 4 04:48:16 2007 From: isis_bladedancer at yahoo.com (Isis Sylverleaf) Date: Fri, 4 May 2007 02:48:16 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [Royal Guard] Concerning the Attack on a Magistrate In-Reply-To: Message-ID: <136203.33552.qm@web56702.mail.re3.yahoo.com> It has come to my attention, that recently, that His Honor Nero ul-Ixin Myurod ((if the name isn't 100% correct, blame Nero himself, since he gave me the infor)) was attacked by a woman named Kamiho, who has, on occasion spoken with my daughter Lily. Facts of her statements given during her trial have also come to my attention, and while she has already been sentenced, these facts were grossly incorrect. I have spoken with my daughter, who has been more than willing to issue a statement, which is as follows: Honorable Magistrates, First and foremost, I was never attacked. The only attempted assassination carried out within the inn that I know of in the past two weeks was carried out against Kip Leonhart. He was attacked with a strange sort of dagger that wounded not only his physical self, but his planar self as well. My mother, Isis Solquinn Desvani se Sylverleaf, Armswoman of the Royal Guard was wounded with the same knife while apprehending the would be assassin. I was not there for the attack itself, but my mother summoned me when it became apparent that the attacker was a practicioner of the magical arts. After the attacker was apprehended, I tended to the wounded, sealing the planar injury, though the physical was strangely resistant to healing magics. I have the weapon used in that attempt in my possession, and have been studying it. It has not left my possession since that night, I assure you. My mother has spoken to me about the statements issued by Kamiho, and I cannot express how infuriated I am that she would use my name in an attempt to explain her stupidity. I have spoken with this woman on only a couple of occasions, and on one of these, I mentioned my study of the dagger, and that my mother had been wounded with it. I have never shown her the weapon, and she was not present during the attack itself. While I realize that she has already been sentenced, I did want to make the facts known. Many thanks for your generous time, Lily Kalonti Desvani OOC-Matt brought to my attention what Kamiho has said, because he was asking me about the supposed 'assassination' attempt. I don't know if Kamiho just got her facts mixed up or what, but I think dragging someone else into something just because you felt like being an idiot is pretty crappy, and I'm not particularly happy about it, considering that nearly every word she said was a blatant fabrication. ~Amanda --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell? Unfortunately I blacked out sometime durring this event - which has led to memory lapses. The following report is of an incident that took place in the evening hours of ... [05/02/07]: After finishing up a meal break at the Black Dragon Inn while on patrol, I had run into a conversationalist (description of Tertius). I spoke with this individual some until walking out to resume my patrol for the evening. It was at this point that I ran into Magistrate Myurod on the way out. After making my way out into the street, the Magistrate summoned me back into the Inn for assistance in slaying the conversationalist, who Nero proceeded to confirm as being a vampire. [Tertius] had put up some resistance, but was eventually overcome and restrained with force. Meanwhile several patrons, who were unidentified by myself, became involved in the incident by means of magical intereference. The magistrate warned them against any further obstruction, and seemingly the situation calmed again. However, it wasn't more than several moments later that Magistrate Myurod was assaulted by a female patron (description of Kamiho). Some struggling ensued, to which I could not thoroughly witness due to my restrain of [Tertius]. Adjutant Kypree had stumbled upon the scene around this time and relieved me of [Tertius] in order to lend assistance to the Magistrate. It was around this time I blacked-out. When I awoke in a dizzy state, several more members of the Royal Guard had been present and [Kamiho] was in the process of being detained. No further details can be lent to those events immediately before and after the blackout. One "Vivien", a man of about . Quite unintentionally, I stumbled into a tale of his regarding a certain set of murders a "few years" back. Apparently he planned and killed a group of bandits who had killed his own family, years after the fact. Not an unreasonable sentiment, but quite beyond the bounds of the law. He claims that this took place in foreign lands, but I'm not quite so sure. He was very evasive when asked of the timeframe of said murders, and his answer of "forty eight hundred years ago" seems like a lie, given his physical characteristics. Still, people of extremely advanced age do visit that particular tavern from time to time, so it might be possible. I'm not authorized to arrest, patrol, or investigate people, so I left it at that, with a warning that I would be reporting this to others. I don't know what level of response this warrants, but if he is really some kind of immortal he would undoubtedly be really powerful, and he's shown that he has little regard for the law. If he is lying about the timeframe, he might also be lying about the location of the murders, which possibly should be investigated. ~Armswoman Kypree, Adjutant ____________________________________________________________________________________Get the Yahoo! toolbar and be alerted to new email wherever you're surfing. http://new.toolbar.yahoo.com/toolbar/features/mail/index.php From wthill at hotmail.com Wed May 16 04:37:43 2007 From: wthill at hotmail.com (WilliamT. It came to my attention there was a fight or what one would call a petty squabble that degraded into the exchange of fists in the inn last night. (Insert descrips of Lily Desvani, Maestro'D Armani, Kip Leonhart.) It was attended to by Armsman Lathos who had been supervising those involved as what appeared to be a conversation as it devolved into a heated argument, which was followed up with my attention when summoned for backup when the situation got worse. Insults were exchanged with Lily Desvani slapping Kip across the face and Maestro blocking what appeared to be a punch thrown by Vorfon Leonhart towards Maestro, himself. There was another involved by the name of Kityre (insert her descrip) but we declined to arrest her as she had summarily removed herself in sufficient time and manner from the argument. Other details as to Maestro's involvement would have to be gained from Armsman Lathos as I wasn't present until the blows were landing. So I would be unaware as to what started the fight. Fortunately for us, the combatants were easily subdued with next to no force, shackles applied and marched single file to the guard house, where we decided it was necessary to intern them for the night to allow them to cool their ugly tempers. I would like to commend Armsman Lathos for his conduct and the orderly manner he went about when conducting the arrest. As said, it is very fortunate for us that we were able to escort the troublemakers off the premises of the Black Dragon Inn without interference or an ambush given how crowded the inn was that night. Message-ID: *Written by Armsman Lathos in an overly formal style* As Spell-Corporal Kane Jhinn said, the conflict happened between a Maestro, Kip, and Lily,Who I now know is the daughter of a fellow in the Guard. I only became aware of the situation when voices were raised and threats given off. It seems the tongue of Mr.Maestro angered Mr.Kip enough to warrant a punch. Which in turn, brought about a slap from Lady Lily. The conflict was then ended as I entered the situation, soon followed by Spell-Corporal Kane Jhinn. We quickly subdued the three primary suspects and filed them off to the locks. As far as I've picked up, this little heat was brewing for awhile, nevertheless, I've recommended only a single night in cells. They offered no resistance, although Mr.Maestro could use a little less lip, and went peacefully to the GuardHouse. *An eccentric signature done by Lathos followed* _________________________________________________________________ Like the way Microsoft Office Outlook works? Unto Captain Lucious Von Stahl. It is with regret that this memorandum has had ink put to paper as it refers to two separate cases of disciplinary action which I recomend, for the greater good of the kingdome of Arangoth first, the good of the Royal Guard of our fair city of Drache second, and those who's names follow third. First I address Spell-Corporal Kane Jhin, who I regard as extremely enthusiastic in his job and normally see his performance as satisfactory, however I have had two formal complaints from citizens brought directly to my attention and have been forced to make them into reports. The reason formal complaints were made upon his person were a result of "bullying" citizens. All be it the citizen was a drow, he did indeed have the proper papers to back up who he was and that he was indeed a citizen of the city. Even with probable cause it is wrong to act as a bully, this is not the land of Thay and we are not ruled by the Red Wizards by some iron fist. I understand general view of and feel my own bias toward the Drow population that seem to flit in and out of our streets but they are elves all the same and by the law are protected just the same, this is a serious blow to our already tarnished reputation. To this I did indeed give him a firm talking to, a verbal reprimand if you will. He told me he was under orders by an elf named Eolenel to interrogate the drow and keep an eye out for her. To this I gave him the benafit of the doubt and took it upon myself to speak to her, find out for myself if ineed she had the writs to take command of the Royal Guard at her discretion, or to ask her kindly not to order our guardsmen around. When I spoke to her she showed me her writs from you, sir. I will not question this as it is surely not my place, nor will I inquire, it was all I needed to know from her, that she had authority to do so. She did however tell me that she did in no way what so ever tell Spell Corporal Kane Jhin to shake down or order him to keep an eye on drow for her. She told him to be weary and said he became erratic and strange to her words, taking it far too litterally. These two combined must not be overlooked and I leave the range of punishment to you, sir. I merely recommend action be taken. Secondly I write about the actions of Corporal Ryal. His bloodline makes no difference, as with the case above he is a guard and his duty is selfless to the throne of Arangoth and the will of his leadership. Given his circumstances, trauma, and stress I do not necessarily recommend discipline but his actions must be taken into account. Like all guards he must answer for his actions for he is a direct reflection of us all, like a chain we are as strong as our weakest link. He has a bad disposition and likes to talk down and degrading to his superiors, myself included (especially). He has even gone so far as to get into my face and made threatening gestures. As I already stated, given his duress I would recommend leniency but he must still answer for his actions. Thank you for your time reading this, sir. Our country not ourselves. Initially, it seemed that the man was going to shrug off the insult. When he attempted to start conversation with the woman, she responded by trying to take his drink from him. It was at that time that several small octupi crawled from his sleeve and onto her arm. She responded by physically assaulting the man. It was at that moment, that Spell Corporal Jhinn and I moved to intervene. Tespin Shutt continued to be belligerent even in the face of authority, offering insult after insult, that ultimately resulted in my invoking a silencing spell to prevent her words from inciting further violence. When I attempted to place her under arrest by peaceful means, she ignored me, and moved to attack the gentleman again. I used a gusting air spell to halt her advance, and she continued to resist arrest, even after Spell Corporal Jhinn pinned her to the floor. After a momentary struggle, she was finally cuffed, and escorted to the nearest guardhouse, where she was sentenced to spend the night in jail. The official charges are, I believe, Disturbing the Peace, Assualt, and Resisting Arrest, thus I believe the sentence to be fitting. On a side note, Tespin Shutt is a confessed follower of Menxruk, and this is not, as I have been brought to understand, the first time she has caused conflict. My first night on duty, as Corporal Jhinn can atest to, she was attempting to cause conflict with me as well.
