MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD 29th day of the first month of the new year. Coming off patrol I entered the inn and was confronted by a woman known to me as Red Fern, a duelist of sorts. She seemed shaken by something and asked if I could help someone who was in trouble and babbling of a plague sweeping across the land. Pointing to litterally a patchwork elf who had a multitude of body parts from various races hacked off and sewn on in a definately unnatural pattern I agreed to do what I could. Taking the elf back by the name of Ni (played by Winter) is some kind of would be assassin, either by geas or enduced cooperation from torture came to slay some sort of witch, which I am still in the process of looking into. Red Fern feels a degree of guilt, claiming the elf went into a fit of rage and needed to be subdued, she injured him in the process but brought him to my attention almost immediately after, I can confirm his fits of madness and in looking into him and close examination find no evidence of demonic posession, a geas is difficult to detect but I believe he is the victem of intense torture. Through the examination I had the fortune of discovering a lethal magic made disease, a deadly plague that results in death within days. Highly contagious even, I've contained it while in its incubation period and have managed to divine a cure for it, I found myself not infected by it, nor Red Fern, which indicates that it had not reached a point where it could pass on like the flu or cold... However we must be ever vigilant, more so now than ever about the ill. Nothing else follows. Sgt. [02/01/07]: After filing my report for the evening and retiring from my partol, I entered the Black Dragon Inn off-duty for a meal and leisure. Not too long after being there, a man fitting the exact description of Kip Leonhart, save for the now blonde hair, walked onto the main floor of the Inn and proceeded to immediately converse with (description of Alix_Darkheart). This (Alix) is the same individual that was associated with the self-admitted demon killed just the night prior. Sergeant Arnise, who was also present, immediately approached the suspect and told him he was under arrest. He surrendered and allowed himself to be detained. I quickly made my way over and led the suspect out of the Inn and to the Guard House where he was placed into one of the holding cells. It wasn't until Sergeant Arnise was present that the man began to explain to us that he had assumed the same appereance, memories, friendships, and abilities as the self-admitted demon who was killed the night prior, but that he wasn't the demon that was killed. Baffled at the explanation, Sergeant Arnise informed the individual that he would need to have his nature discerned and the validity to his story checked by a Magistrate. He is currently being held at the Guard House on the suspicion of being a demon. Signed ~Idelle Sarault, Armswoman --------------------------------- Looking for earth-friendly autos? Yesterday evening, when stopping in to have something warm before heading home, I was accosted by the bouncer of the Black Dragon Inn, a Tia Mestin, who had witnessed the earlier duel, and subsequent deaths. She had the following to say: "It's the strangest bloody thing, there I was, minding my own. I'd just finished my statement you know, and in walks this man that looks just like the dead guy. Except that he had brown hair, but he could have been his twin. I immediately confronted him. He was carrying weapons exactly like those the dead Kip had used, and knew things about the fight that he couldn't have known unless he was there. When I used Kip's name, he replied with : His name was Kip Leonhart, my name is Kip Leonhart. He was more than a demon, more than a vampire. Now that's rather cryptic isn't it? Anyway, I don't know where he went, but I'd advise caution in dealing with him." I am unsure of what assistance this might be, but I felt it should be added to the report. --------------------------------- No need to miss a message. Get email on-the-go with Yahoo! I write this in collaberation with armswoman Idelle Sarault to confirm the happenings last night. I recognized the man from the description given in the initial report. I do believe something is afoot though the creature did ultimately cooperate and come peacefully to the guardhouse, where it remains, there was something definately off. His story indicates he's the victem of a doppleganger who was slain last night. This may warrent looking into as for him being of demonic origin, I can neither confirm nor deny. It was much too late to conduct full on testing and the once over I gave him was inconclusive. If such a creature has come back from the dead it would be prudent to put a banishment on top of the execution to keep it from coming back, or we may indeed have the wrong man, in which case let it be known he's been treated fairly and given his chance to explain himself. Throughout the conversation, she would grab her head and ask what was going on. Eventually she told me that someone was entering into her mind and trying to forcefully pursuade her to go outside. The voice explained that it was a matter regarding a recently exiled child by the name of Hyena. I immeidately ran outside to see if I could track down the individual who was allegedly mind raping her. I ran a full circle around the Inn and checked the roof. It sounded as though I could hear footsteps running as I was making my way around the Inn. By thte time I came to the porch again, I noticed someone standing outside looking at me in a confused manner. After being questioned about the incident, the individual (description of Rizzen) roughly described another man who had fled the scene from a hiding position just before I came around the front. Unfortunately the description was not enough to identify anyone by and though I followed in the direction towards the Forest Reserve, I did not find anything. Due to Gantros' close relationship with Hyena, ill-regard for the Royal Guard, and complicity in possible crimes, I would like to ask that he be considered a possible suspect in light of Red Fern's recent allegations of a similar mind raping incident. A gooy mass that can take on many forms, it attempted to mash and suffocate the life out of her. I responded immediately and dispatched the summoned creation, the child was close to death and with a lay on hands spell I managed to stabelize her from the brink. I bring this up because it is appearant there is an issue with children in the inn, I am in full agreement with the magistrate who ruled to exile Hyena for his crime, though I wish circumstances could have been different, I stand by the decision of my superiors 100% I would like if possible an oppertunity to open up a new orphanage out of the city walls at my own farm estate, it would remove the troubled youths from the streets and keep them out of restricted places. I would front the cost myself but would need official sanctioning to do so. I am in no way offering to adopt these children, but am willing to provide what the harsh streets of the wharf cannot. (OOC: ok.. I write this up.. cause I am and I know many others are quite tired of the constant bombardment of real young characters, which is not against the rules but the fact is.. like the drow and demons they just don't get it.. when they do something stupid or get into trouble they don't seem to understand why. The other problem I am noting here is the mimic did practically mode to grapple and suffocate the child, just because someone is playing something off the wall or easily hated.. does not give the right to any player to use cheap shot tactics on them.. I don't speak for anyone else, and I'm merely saying to bring this to light, I'm sure it's been said and I'm not trying to harp on anyone nor am I saying names.) _________________________________________________________________ Get in the mood for Valentine's Day. [02/01/07]: Deciding to take a short break and warm up with some coffee at the Black Dragon Inn, I entered and immediately stumbled upon Sergeant Arnise in the aftermath of slaying a demon. I checked on him to see if he needed assistance, at which point he noted that Sethos was present somewhere in the Inn and needed to be arrested. After searching for him visually, he eventually popped up from behind the bar counter and fired an arrow at Red Fern. I called for the man to halt, at which point he tried to explain he was attacking a demon. I informed the man Fern was indeed not a demon and that he was under arrest for assault. The man proceeded to then flee and I gave chase behind him. It was neccessary for me to shed my armor and weapon in order to catch up with him, but I eventually did and tackled him to the ground. He responded by rolling around and kicking me directly in the face. My nose was broken thereafter and he took off again. I managed to follow him down to the Darian River, where he momentarily disappeared. In fact he had just dove into the freezing waters. When I finally spotted him, it was clear he knew that jumping in was a mistake and he swam back to shore. I took him into custody and met back up with Sergeant Arnise. Sethos was taken back to the Guard House where he was interrogated over the situation regarding his numerous assaults on Fern. His reason for fleeing was that he thought both my badge, and Sergeant Arnise's badge were forgeries and we were, "Fake," as he described it. The man will be charged with one count of assault, one count of attempted murder, and resisting arrest. I have opted to withhold the charge of assault on a crown official, as he later apologized for kicking me in the face, leading me to believe it was an unintentional consequence of his struggle to get away. On the first night of the month I was on official duty, entering the inn to investigate a second attempted murder charge by the same drow that gutted Jinnai Halfmoor, the weapon had been lodged into a wall but the victem decided to not only press no charges but she came close to obstructing justice when she at first refused to turn over the blade thrown at her, I informed her of what would happen if she did not turn it over (I.E. she'd be brought up on obstruction charges) and she decided to play it safe and not test the guard. After taking the evidence my attention was diverted by an over grown demon of some sort. It was blatantly evil and had come like so many others, to drink the established BlkDragon under, I gave it the warning it deserved to leave willingly, refusing I engaged it. Easily dispatching the creature as it was far too drunk to fight back I followed up its destruction with a banishment, keeping its malign spirit from this prime material. Finally the second reason I entered the inn was to deal with Sethos, the demon having taken center stage now had the chance to escape, he came close to doing so, exposing himself to fire an arrow at Red Fern, striking her where the shoulder meets the neck she very nearly bled to death. Armswoman Idelle was thankfully with me by this time and Sethos took flight, in the armor I wear I am an imposing combatant but I must admit that I cannot run long distances at a fast pace, Idelle being the swifter out of us both gave chase and I took up the challange of keeping Red from bleeding to death. After stabelizing the young woman I followed after, by that time Idelle had Sethos in custody and we both brought him to the guardhouse where he remains. Tag team match In-Reply-To: Message-ID: MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD Early morning of the third day of the second month of the year On the night in question I was on official business and on duty at the guardhouse itself, discussing potential criminal activity in the city concerning an ongoing investigation about a vampire that has for a long time lived under our very noses, this will be the primary focus of a later report. In the middle of the discussion before a name could be given the guardhouse was attacked by a demon most foul. It claimed to be brother of the very demon that I dispatched the night before (same mun) it challanged me to a duel and threatened unspeakable plagues if I did not comply, I responded with Idelle and we engaged the mighty creature. It had access to impressive spells and powers, hitting me head on with horrid wilting, which has left me dehydrated. I will regretably be off active duty for two days to recover from this and other less serious wounds suffered in the battle. Both Idelle and myself very nearly died, however the good nature of the person I was speaking with earlier and the timely arrival of Magistrate Abraxas saved our lives. At the very last moment, before it could finish either of us off I managed to destroy the beast by imposing atonement upon it. Like its brother before it, he is now gone and a banishment placed on him. I find it strange a demon could assault the guardhouse so, but things have been hot lately and we must all be extra vigilant. If not for Idelle I would be dead, as would she if not for me, in lue of this it is my recommendation that no guard be caught alone, off or on duty as we are targets of aggression. Be ever vigilant my brothers and sisters, evil never sleeps and so too justice must be. Nothing else follows. Sgt. I responded by accompanying the Sergeant out into the street to face the creature. Unfortunately I was unrelentlessly hit with a combination of acidic liquid and thick air that caused a burning sensation in the lungs and eyes. At one point, when the creature had no longer targeted me, I had managed to cut through most of his shoulder with a well placed strike using my kukri, but by and large the creature was mostly assaulted and eventually slain by Sergeant Arnise (? la Hacksaw Jim Duggan). Due to the multiple burns on my body from the acid attacks and persistent migranes that have resulted from enacting a crude form of psionics, I too will not be on active duty for several days in order to recover from my sustained injuries. While still recovering from wounds recieved at the hands of the disease demon the other night and off duty a murder victem by the name of Nills (Char of Winter) was brought to the guardhouse with a stab wound to the chest, a hollow knife containing lethal amounts of sedatives was with the victem. Daerid is me -real- one though. "Just a simply yes or no will suffice. I will now read your charges. And do be aware that any lie you speak will be caught." 6She held up the ring with its pretty red gem to signify just how she could tell. Aye, *he says, nodding.* "Altogether there are six counts of assault upon a Crown Official, one count damage to property, one count of assault upon a patron, two counts resisting arrest, and one possible count of theft. Did you steal any coin, Daerid?" (as per the Hyena incident as listed in the report filed by Idelle) Aye, *he replies, biting his tongue before he goes on to elaborate on that.* "You do know that some of these offer very grave consequences," 6she told him with a serious expression. 1"With all of these piled up as they are, I am in my full rights to have you executed." * Daerid`Lasein dosen't seem to suprised at that remark. "Aye, I've a pretty good idea o' jus' 'ow bad what I did was." "Do you have anything to say in your own defense?" * Daerid`Lasein seems to think on that oen for a long while. "Y'know, nae really Yer 'onor. Anythin' I do be sayin' is jus' liable ta be settin' off that nifty trinket o' yers there." He didn;t really feel like testing the powers of that ring. It'd probably just land him in a worse situation than this. "Then do you want to die?" 6Some people tried to martyr themselves to make everything else look bad. But she was more curious than anything. * Daerid`Lasein gives a shake of his head at that one. "Cin nae be sayin' I 'ave e'er -wanted- ta die. Figured this'd be the way it'd be 'appenin' iffin I stayed me path though. 'tis nae reason ta try'n argue me way out o' this." And that was that pretty much. Dae'd long ago come to terms with the idea of dying at the gallows, or the headsman's block. "I jus' do 'onestly be suripsed that I 'ave made it this long 14:cut14: without bein' caught." The ast is said with soemthing of a grin. "Then I have something better for you. Which hand is it you use to fire your crossbow." Either one, *he supplies. Indeed Dae was ambidexterous.* Normally the left though. Closer ta where I keep me toy y'know. * Lay`Trayin remains silent and stoic on the stool near the door as she listens to the proceedings "Then I suppose we'll cut off both of your trigger fingers. Two weeks' imprisonment (starting 2/6 to be released the morning of 2/21), thirty lashes, and restitution in the full amount of what you stole from Hyena paid to the Guardhouse or the Royal Church. You decide." * Lay`Trayin frowns slightly at the sentence but says nothing for the time being. * Daerid`Lasein crosses one leg over the other, tapping one finger against his jaw. "Suppose iffin I decide ta refuse we'll jus' be goin' straight ta cut 'is bloody 'ead off right? Aye...'ow 'bout we do without the imprisonment. Been 'ere long 'nough as it is y'know. The lashes, an' returning o' the coin I cin 'andle easily 'nough. Both me trigger fingers does sound a wee bit 'arsh...Beats bein' strung up though 14:cut14: I do suppose." "I can very well extend it to a full month, if you'd wish to barter, Daerid. It was harsh of you to pull a crossbow, which will be confiscated, on the Guard. It was harsh when you threw a creature through a window of an inn. It was harsh when you did a lot of things. Perhaps I may add community service at the Royal Church? It could do with a good cleaning." * Tagert is on IRC (Shaun's online) * Lay`Trayin brings a hand up to conceal her chuckle at dae's and lachlan's responses but oterhwise remains silent * Daerid`Lasein merely smiles. "I was jus' sayin' y'know. Ye -did- ask me afterall." "I asked you if you had anything to say in your defense. You said no. Consider yourself performing a thorough cleaning at the Royal Church under the scrutiny of Father Cormllenaa, who is also a professor at the Royal University. Your imprisonment is extended to three weeks. Do you have anything else to say?" 6Her brows rose. * Daerid`Lasein shakes his head. "Nothin' more ta say at all lassy. Jus' let me the 'ell out o' 'ere so I cin go get meself some rest." He was aggrivated to be sure, more so at his ability to do nothing about this situation than at the punishment laid upon him. "Do take him to be washed up, Lieutenant. Then take him to have his fingers removed and bandaged. He will be flogged tomorrow morning," 6in the icy cold, 1"and returned to his cell for the duration of his three weeks' imprisonment. I will send a missive to the Royal Church about their impending cleaning." 6She stood. 1"If there is nothing else?" what of his weapons your honor? are they to be confiscated? 6she speaks in a measured tone of voice as she does not wish to rile the magistrate "As I said earlier, yes they are." 6She raised a brow at Lay. * Daerid`Lasein tenses at this. The numerous daggers he could forget about, even the crossbow. He could get new ones afterall. His swords though, they were priceless, and absolutley irreplacible. * Lay`Trayin bites her lip then as she had missed that part then rises to her feet and motions for dae to exit the room before her and motiond for him to head back towards the cells so she can prepare for his bath and the removal of his fingers * Daerid`Lasein stands slowly, resisting the urge to leap at the judge. Stiffly he turns and follows after Lay, trying to calm himself. * Lay`Trayin moves into the hall then waits for dae to move in front of her as she points the direction for him to go * Daerid`Lasein mumbles some sort of obscenity, not at Lay, but at the general way in which his life had been going lately. He starts off in the direction indicated. * Lay`Trayin then directs dae past his old cell and further back into the guardhouse where the bathing facilties are. (I think we're done. Daerid, please don't play this character from 2/6 to the morning of 2/28 as per his imprisonment. He will be released 12:01 Drache time on the morning of the 28th. Feel free to play him after that, but please remember his mutilations, community service, restitutions and weaponlessness.) (And, no, there's really no way to get his weapons back.) (That's a pain. Alot of thoguht went into those swords y'know.) (Shoulda thought of that before you went and did what you did.) (Meh. I am sure I shall live) The sentence will be from: 2/6 to the morning of 2/28 Daerid`Lasein is the complete name. We won't be getting the new shipment for almost a week, so please remember to conserve, conserve, conserve! Helpful tips for reducing parchment usage: 1) Live with minor spelling errors, rather than rewriting the whole report because of small problems. 2) Write nearly, in smaller print. This helps conserve parchment! 3) When taking notes, remember that the back of a sheet is almost as useful as the front." -Kypree, Adjutant ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss an email again! Some manner of Khtarpan fever, I have heard, and while serious, should not stand up to the faith of this city's priests for over long. Upon reviewing your report dated 5. II. 477., I have issued you, attached to this memorandum, a number of sheets of parchment, no doubt to the chagrin of our Civilian Aides and logistics officers in the New City Guardhouse. The first is a Bank Note worth ten crowns should you incur any expenses in your search for one 'Winter,' a strongly suspected Vampiress. The second is an order for the Guardhouse armouries to provide whatever stakes, holy water, and other special armaments you may need to requisition. In case you were wondering, Arms-Sergeant, you have hereby been instructed to form a small lance and solve this particular vampire problem. I have spoken to the Commanders and cleared the deal. You have the authority to draw a few specialists off their normal patrol routes over the next two weeks, preferably not for the entirety of that two weeks. You have the authority to interview and recruit said specialists as you see fit, with the proper pleasantries to their individual Sergeants and Lieutenants. You have the authority to hold command over this lance (even over those equal to your rank), and use it to arrest or destroy the suspected Vampiress wanted for the murder of a citizen of Arangoth. That's done for your commands and authority. For recommendations, I have several. First that you append your memorandums with your proper rank and not a shortened version thereof. You are a man-at-arms serving in the Royal Guard of Arangoth, Arnise, and not a man-at-spells and not simply a man. Secondly, and more appropriate to your case, I advise that you specify further the victims of serious crimes in excess of two-letter names without patronymic or family sobriquet. I understand that you expected the Lieutenant to whom you were reporting to know the details of this case, but I would again advise you to be more thorough, whatever the tightpurses at headquarters thinks of your parchment use. On the subject of your hunt itself, I strongly recommend that you obtain the services of a New City Guard with commission or just below, to act as a liason with that arm of our force that finds itself on the brighter side of the Iron Gate.* Wherever you spend your off-hours, you cannot know the wealthier neighbourhoods, their inhabitants, and their local Guardsmen, nearly as well as can a bobble* who works there. Should said Guard outrank you, you shall still hold field command, however - unless he or she chooses to remove you from it at utmost end of need. Finally, in light of your injuries, I recommend you staff your lance with good close fighters, and stay well-back of any melee, relying on your faith and command skills rather than your not unlimited constitution. I don't need to reinforce the dangers of this assignment, Arms-Sergeant. Drache's encounters with vampires have been many, but a good deal of them are short in the tooth, fresh off their death and infection, and rarely having the cunning and deadliness of a hurnatod with many years behind it. Some of them, I understand, can gain new and frightening powers with age. Your first duty is to this city and your King, Arms-Sergeant, but your second is to your men. If you feel you are not fully prepared to face this nightmare, do not engage. It may be a good idea, therefore, to take along a messenger - one of our smaller Guardsmen, perhaps - in order to call the full fury of the Rampant Dragon* down upon your prey upon cornering it. Contact me, or your regular CO, should he return to duty, if you have any other needs. Good luck. Me enxenim, Arms-Lieutenant Soon ul-Xeo Kadmos, Xiunlan Quarter, Wharf Garrison --------------------------------- * The Iron Gate stands as the sole portal between the New City (The Blkdragon, Temple, Market and suburban districts) and the Old City (The Wharf, Red Lantern, Back Alley) *'Bobble' or 'Bob' are both slang terms for Royal Guardsmen, coming from 'Bobire', the Arangothian word for such. *The Royal Guard's symbol is a Rampant Dragon, natch. [2/09/07] Still on leave from active duty in recovery from my injuries, I came to the Black Dragon Inn for a meal and leisure. Soon after ordering a bowl of soup, a rather nasty looking undead creature (description of MaggonSlave) entered the Inn and began to approach one of the patrons (description of Ric`Delaney) in a threatening manner. Being unarmed and unarmored, I was hesitant to approach the situation since I could do little to assist without becoming a greater liability. I informed the armed man that the undead had no rights and it would be appropriate if he were to slay it in the event that he felt threatened. Several other patrons, including Deis and Ferret, began to move in on the undead before it finally lunged for [Ric]. The man defended himself from the creature with by slashing him away with his sword. Ferret and Deis also unleashed a series of attacks to bring down the abomination. Though I had no weapons, I used a barstool to keep the creature in check once by striking it in the face. It apparently decapitated the being, but did not bring it down. In fact it was not until Deis had completely incinerated the undead that it had finally been destroyed. After the conflict, several combatants were treated for their injuries and sicknesses that ensued from the fight. Deis was treated by Ferret for an undetermined ailment. I was unable to decern her injuries since [Ric] also noted that he was in need of immediate healing. He was therefore accompanied by me over to the Guard House where he was tended to. It is unfortunate that this creature visited the Inn when I was not in a position to protect the people of Arangoth. I wish to commend the many patrons and citizens alike who assisted in dispatching of the undead. Those individuals include Deis, Ferret, (Description of Ric`Delaney and Bruuthane). If it were not for them, the creature would have likely caused far greater harm and injury to the public at large. [2/09/07] While still on active duty, I took a leisurely break at the Black Dragon Inn in order to warm up with a bowl of soup. Not too long after ordering the meal, two Kip`Leonharts appeared to be in the same room. One was there prior to my entry and other arrived not too long after. The first of the two (Kip ver 1.0) initially accussed the other of being a demon. As I approached the accussed, he had apparently cast some sort of spell that revealed the nature of the other Kip (confused yet?). Kip (ver 2.0) was approached by myself with skepticism as I ordered him to get on the ground until this was all assessed. It was him, after all, who was initially implicated as being a demon. Kip (1.0), however, revealed his demonic nature unintentionally though Kip (2.0)'s defiant spellcasting. As a result, the demon tried to flee the Inn as quickly as possible and was pursued by myself and Kip (2.0). After a collective offensive was launched against the demon, Kip (2.0) successfully froze the demon through spellcasting. With the demon frozen, I took hold of Kip's blessed sword and ran the demon through until it was ultimately vanquished. Kip was then escorted to the Guard House to have his injuries tended to by the healers thereafter. Signed, ~Idelle Sarault, Armswoman --------------------------------- Have a burning question? Tracking the drug trafficing to an abandoned church in the wharf district we lead a covert raid upon the place. There was hardly what could be called a battle, we overwhelmed and brought into custody five trafficers and pushers, as well one demonic entity known as a Dretch, a wretched and sorry creature to be sure. It has yet to reveal any further information to us, it appears to have been some kind of book keeper. With permission I will interrogate the creature, or leave it to the discretion of higher officials. While this has turned out to be nothing more than a possible point of origin for the poison used in the murder of Nills we are investigating further. Word on the street is that Winter has returned to the city of Drache, if this is the case I wonder how it is she slipped through the gates without being seen when word of her presence has been put out. With permission I would like to go through the records of local residents, find her estate or where she may reside so that she may be brought in for questioning, it is not beyond reason that she is not a vampire at all, but if nothing else she has given the order for murder and must be brought up on charges for that at the very least. Little else can be reported at this time, Sirs. However I have made this confedential and of the utmost importance as I am under the impression that we have a serious leak within our ranks, possibly even someone working directly for Winter herself. Conclusions and bittersweet recriminations. In-Reply-To: Message-ID: MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD Unto Lieutenant Soon, Kadmos & Captain Von Stahl 15th day of the second month of the year. It is clear that we have reached an impass. Somehow the information regarded the searches and investigations into the charges of vampirism have reached the ear of Winter. This is as much a blessing however as it is a curse, she has only made a stronger case against herself by vacating the city with utmost haste. Between myself directing the investigation, Arms woman Idelle Sarault heading up the evidence gathering, Lieutenant Lay Trayin, and acting evidence compiler and adjutent Kypree we came to the painfully obvious conclusion that the vampire known to us as Winter has taken the route of self preservation, proving her cunning as she did not so much as attempt to defend herself against us. The investigation hast tracked beyond the lands of Arangoth, she is now gone and beyond granting the right to seek her out and destroy her there is little else that can be done on this matter, save one thing: It is my opinion that this Winter is a dangerous and elusive creature of the night. She has proven herself cunning and intelligent to remain hidden for so long within the city unchecked, more over she is evil or at the very least immoral. With this in mind, it my is my -official- request that she be placed near the top of the bounty list, the charges are as follows (Vampirism, necromancy, conspiracy to murder, and murder.) If she is seen within the city she should be brought in immediately and without any hesitation, but she should never be approached by less than a small platoon of guardsmen, not only is this a matriach vampire, an elder of sorts, but she has allies and cronies that are at her side wherever she goes. Known to us now as Awayne, and Aisir over the course of the investigation. (detailed descriptions and sketches given with report for all accused and involved.) With that this case should never be closed once and for all, but should be indefinately placed on file and logged, we must not forget who and what our enemy is for they are legion. They will await us to become complacent and comfortable in our ignorance. In the humble service of the fair city of Drache, all for the crown of Arangoth. I would not trouble yourself overmuch with the city gates. They are busy and loose, and there are myriad ways for a clever wretch to sneak through or buy passage on a ship. The Korthai and the Harbour Master are notoriously easy to bribe, though the bigger fish they bring in make up for the smaller ones they let slip through. As well, I would recommend you lighten your brow upon the internal matters discussed. I forwarded your suspicions to the Captain, but once word gets out to the rank and file and the bounty hunters, no matter how solid, tongues wag and word travels fast in the Drache underground - often aided by scrying spells and information dealers. Still, the Captain may choose to do as he wishes with the evidence presented. While there are few illegal narcotics in Drache, we were able to charge the church gang you arrested through their connection with the demon and with the poison. One has offered to hand over information as to an opium growing operation in order to save his left hand.* This separate investigation has been handed off to an appropriate Arms-Corporal. I am pleased with the work of your team. I am not familiar with all of them, but I understand some of the grunts are too free with their time while on duty - this is a solid mark in their favour. Though not successful in the apprehension or destruction of your target, the diligence shown is a testament. I will inform their individual commanders of their efforts, as I shall do to your regular CO, who has now unfortunately been taken to a nearby temple with literally explosive diarrhea. Terrible matter, that. Probably some sorcery involved. Me enxenim, Arms-Lt. Soon Kadmos -------------------- *While such narcotics as opium are not illegal in Arangoth, the growing of it on native soil is quite illegal. There are very possibly other drugs that are prohibited, but they have not been named. As required of official reports, he can be described as a . Upon arrest, he was removed with haste back to the guardhouse, and tried immediately by the Honorable Lachlan Brewer, wherein it was discovered that this man was actually under some unknown manner of mental control. Possibly demonic in origin, as it reacted strongly to holy magics. He will be held for several days, his release to be granted upon the assignment of an acceptable individual to oversee his watch and assist in recovery. The arresting officer was Arms Recruit Roman Kotalik, and both he and I were present during the trial itself, should further information be required. [02/25/07]: After filing my report for the evening and retiring from my partol, I entered the Black Dragon Inn off-duty for a meal and leisure. It was here that I overheard several patrons mention 'the guard.' I turned back towards the group and witnessed a boy by the name of John Thomas (description of Erysol) who had a severe head injury consisting of an open wound, bruising, and swelling around the eye. Upon asking what happened, the boy first lied to me and told me he ran into a door. Another patron (description of Arydrall) explained to me that a man (description of Athler) struck the boy with a chair. Yet another witness by the name of Karras Thorne (description of Karras) explained to me that the same man that struck young Mr. Thomas had also been in a violent exchange with another patron earlier by the name of Alix Darkheart. Though I have not had a chance to question Mr. Darkheart, I was told that the scuffle had developed out of an innocent verbal exchange. To my understanding, the fault was not with Mr. Darkheart, but [Athler], who was looking for a fight. The boy then told me that the chair had been thrown at him after [Athler] asked John what he was looking at. John told me all he said was that he was looking at the man's big mouth. That remark had apparently set off the other individual. The boy also explained that [Athler] was likely drunk at the time, which would explain the belligerency. Witnesses to this incident include: Alix Darkheart (unconfirmed), Karras Thorne, and John Thomas. The man will be charged with one account of assault for now, but likely two charges will be brought against him after interviewing Mr. Darkheart over the seperate incident. [02/26/07]: After filing my report for the evening and retiring from my partol, I entered the Black Dragon Inn off-duty for a meal and leisure. I immediately spotted Alix Darkheart and approached the man about the allegations that he and [Athler] had a physical altercation the other night. Alix proceeded to tell me that the man apparently exploded after being refered to as, "Friend," numerous times. The disappropriate response consisted of an attempt to stab Mr. Darkheart with a broken chair leg. The suspect in question will now be formally charged with two counts of assault. Alix Darkheart can be considered a reliable witness to the crime committed against his person and the demeanor of [Athler] prior to the assault on the boy.
