Forwarded to the (NPC?) Lieutenant in charge of the Merchant's District,
(copied to Magistrate Wolfram ul-Gregory Jaksan, Spell-Lieutenant Lay
Trayin Chasingfire, and Arms-Recruit Red Fern.)
While off duty and enjoying a chat with Arms-Recruit Red Fern, I was
approached by one Deis de Vaharalija Myria Bleu, a citizen with some
serpentine characteristics. The Recruit and I indulged her in reporting
a case of possible slavery with a travelling menagerie in your District.
It appears that another lizard-featured individual may be being held
against his will as an attraction for the menagerie. Bleu even reported
that he had escaped at one point, and been recaptured. She stated that
no pay seemed to be involved, and so it was not a case of indebtedness
or employment. The creature is apparently clothed, capable of speech,
and has spoken of a home culture and country.
Blue had spoken to Spell-Lt. Chasingfire and Magistrate Jaksan earlier
regarding the specifics of the case and law, and seems to have
considered their advice before bringing the case to our attention. She
is lacking in some courtesy, and patience is required in dealing with
her, as with many citizens of Drache.
Request that you detail one or a pair of Guardsmen to investigate
conditions at the Menagerie and determine whether any wrongdoing is
taking place. Should it be so, arrest those involved and press charges.
Bleu is available to testify. One of the new Recruits could certainly
benefit from tagging along with a more experienced Guardsman.
Arms-Lieutenant Soon ul-Xeo Kadmos,
Xiunlan Quarter, Wharf District.
((OOC: This is a minor plot that Deis mun has cooked up, and is looking
for an interested Guard character, and probably after that, an
interested Magistrate to run the trial.
Anybody interested in getting their criminal investigation on should
Msg Deis, AKA "Shion, Mortis, Halivan_Sain, Xyathan_khorim, Casille,
and Ikara_landron. OOCly, I usually go by Riddy, or sometimes Pronoun,
or Participle."
