He looked as though he had found himself some nice clothes and washed the caked blood off his skin and out of his hair. Yahari was quite the handsome young man when he wasn't an utter mess. He slipped his hands into his pockets and stepped up to the bar beside Rose, climbing onto the barstool beside her and striking up converation. "Excuse me, my <-next-> [02:00] <-cont-> name is Yahari..I'm rather new here, well..I've been here before but not for long. Anyway, listen to me blathering on like an idiot.." He said, chuckling slightly. "Can I buy you a drink, Miss?" <-end-> [02:02] * Rose`Tivaurd tilts her head, listening to Yahari's approach. Her features are still obscured by the overhang of her hood, before she simply smirks. "Oh really now..." Such a direct approach. She shrugs one shoulder though, before setting her wineglass aside, nearly empty as it is. "You can buy me a refill I guess, and I am Rosa." [02:06] * Yahari nods once and then lays the coins on the counter for Dulcy to fetch the lady and himself matching drink. He leans against the bar then and smiles charmily, "It's a pleasure, Rosa. Are you a regular to the Inn?" [02:07] * Rose`Tivaurd s eyes never become visible as she speaks, hidden by her overhanging cowl. Only the view of her cimson lips and the pale line of her jaw are exposed within those voluminous fabrics. "You might say that. I come here to rest from time to time, and to speak with old friends." [02:12] * Yahari rubbed his cheek, his fingers running over the circular scar on his cheekbone with an 'X' through it. Something seemed to be on his mind and then the thoughts were lost once more as Dulcy placed the glasses of wine before them. He nodded his head graciously and took his glass and lifted it some, "To..freedom." He grimaced, almost as if the word were a curse and then drank his wine. [02:13] * Rose`Tivaurd reaches forth to take her wineglass up once more. "you seem an odd sort sir, I hope you don't mind if I say as much." [02:18] * Yahari laughed slightly and looked to Rosa apologetically, "I'm sorry...I've had a really terrible day. I hope you don't think me to be too strange." He looked down at the bartop, tucking his white hair behind his pointed ear. His neck was covered in a ringshaped burn that circled around it. [02:20] * Rose`Tivaurd shakes her head slowly, "Oh no sir, I've met stranger." she takes a long sip from her drink, the blind baroness just going by hearing alone. She hooks one heeled boot within her barstool, letting her ivory cane settle across her lap. [02:28] * Yahari sighed to himself, staring off blankly. His thoughts were amptly centered around that man..the mage with no name. He bit his lower lip, considering the possibility that he may return. They had said Valadar had not shown his face for months, but..still. Those eyes...those eyes did not leave the boy's memory. It was the very essence of his soul being torn asunder..oh no, he'd never forget. [02:29] * Rose`Tivaurd just sips at her drink, smirking as the fellow has fallen silent. She raises her head to better hear the others within the room, tracing each movement mentally. One leg shifts to cross the other, with the brush of silk on silk. [02:33] ..Do you suppose, if I were to put a bounty out...that they would keep watch for the man? *he asks, quite out of no where. His attention was momentarily drawn to Fahvelle who was staring at him. He furrowed his brows and then tore his gaze away, did that woman ever seem familiar.* [02:35] * Yahari reached up and rubbed the back of his neck where the burn was. The Unseelie seemed unnerved about the mark around his neck where once the silver collar was that kept him bound to his Master. He feared the worst for Morbid at that point, but assumed only that he'd be able to take care of himself. At least, he hoped.* [02:35] * Rose`Tivaurd smirks faintly "Well for one I didn't think private bounties were entirely legal, but if someone has wronged you you might report it to the guard, and perhaps they would put something out. At the moment though I'd imagine they have bigger things to think on..." [02:36] * Baldisar glances to Rose at that comment "report what m'lady? as I said earlier I am back in the Royal Guard" [02:37] * Yahari lofts both brows, "I didn't consider the guard...but I did speak to a man earlier who looked like a Royal Official. I'm sure he'll.." He suddenly stopped when he heard his mother's name, looking back to Fahvelle. "How..do you know me, m'lady?" [02:39] * Rose`Tivaurd just giggles as she turns to listen to Baldisar's comment, before nodding slowly, "Well well, it looks as though you have already adopted the proven selective hearing of the guard once more dear sir. Thisfellow was just commenting on bounties. Perhaps you twoshould speak. In the meantime I think I shall return to Thornsbloom. Good eve sir." spoken to Yahari, then, "Good eve guardsman." spoken to Baldisar. [02:39] Goodevening miss Rosa.. [02:40] a good eve to you as well M'Lady [02:40] * Rose`Tivaurd draws up her cane, and with a subtle smile the robed baroness walks out, making her way with quite efficient progress despite her blindness. [02:41] * Yahari stood then and joined Fahvelle, pulling himself up on the seat beside her. "I've not seen my parents in quite some time, nor my Lord for that matter. Have you seen them at all? ..I ran into a bit of trouble." He admits, glancing about. "Apparently, there was a mage fond of kidnapping people in these parts..and he decided to return me today." [02:43] "Marq if you will excuse me I should go see what this is about" he stands and approaches Yahari "did you need to speak to a guard Sir?" [02:46] ..Whether or not your men find him is unimportant, he will die a slow, painful death when he is found... To this Baldisar can understand the man's anger so lets the comment slide [02:46] * Baldisar nods "would you have a description and possibly even a name of this mage?" [02:51] * Yahari frowns, glancing to the Guard's child and then he thinks a moment before responding. "He was a few inches under six feet, long black hair and black eyes..and..markings on his face. Two on both side, violet in color. He befriends demons.." [02:53] * Yahari smiled fondly and accepted the pre-rolled clove, placing it inbetween his lips and touching his fingertip to the end of it to light it. He puffed a moment and then listened to Fahvelle. "..I completely understand that. I've been gone for years myself. I've been traveling, I lost track of my Lord and went looking for him..and ended up getting kidnapped when I came here. [02:55] "all right I appologise for bothering you" he looks to Mila "lets go to a table over there and look at the bear" he points to a table near the hearth and starts to move that way leading the girl if she will come This all being filed in an official report and Baldisar stating that he will report any other information as he gets it. Igor's Anathema/Vortex plot (check out http://mail.arangoth.org/pipermail/blkdragon-l_arangoth.org/2005-November/000832.html if you don't know what it's about) is drawing to a close, culminating in an epicly epic battle that will get underway this Friday, December 16, at 8:00pm CST. As with epicly epic battles of the past, the main event will go down in one more more side channels so as not to disturb the folks who want to play in the main. The side channels will be announced in channels and here on the ML a couple hours (at least) before the action starts. Everyone is invited to join and play--and we do mean everybody. The woman would stop just short of the counter, however, standing back some distance while studying the selection of bourbon with her eyes. [21:32] * ChasingFire half eyes Ety, but makes his way towards Baldi for now no less.. [21:38] * Ety`Woods steps forward from behind Nicole, drawing her left elbow in to jab the woman in the side of her head. The attempted blow was meant to stun her quickly while her free right hand shot into her pocket to grasp onto whatever valuables or contents would be found there. [21:40] * Jenneane got up quietly from her place by the hearthfire.... She was thirsty again.... And so, behind Ety, she stood after coming to a stop.... [21:40] * Baldisar seeing this stands and approaches Ety and he attempts to restrain her "here now what is this about?" [21:40] * NicoleKain blinked as she was struck by suprise. rubs the side of her head turning to look at the women, what she might find in her pocket would be toy made of wood in the shape of a spider. shakes her head as she grins, still blinking her eyes a few times. "dang what did i do?" [21:40] * Jenneane sidesteps out of the way and takes up a stool at the bar again.... [21:42] "She's tha resident lowlife theif, Baldi, tha's what she does." [21:43] * Ety`Woods doesn't even examine what she withdraws from the woman's pocket. The woman simply backsteps as quickly as she can to put distance between herself and Nicole, only to walk right into Baldisar who immeidately goes to restrain her. Ety, unsuspecting and outright surprised by the sudden grasp, immiedately flings her head backwards, trying to catch the guard in the face with her skull as she jerks violently, trying to get [21:43] trying to get free. [21:43] * Aerlisa blinks and looks over at Ety and Nicole, shaking her head in disgust. "That was probably the clumsiest pickpocketing I've ever seen," she comments, apparently looking down not upon the act itself, but the way it was carried out. [21:43] * Baldisar looks to Luc as he still holds Ety "well not tonight, I'll have to either take her in unless the Lady here has no objection to letting her loose with a warning and return of anything taken" [21:44] * Baldisar moves his head though her skull catches the side of his head he keeps hold [21:46] "now that hurt little lady" he turns to Nicole "so what do you say? we cut her loose if she returns any items taken or do I need to arrest her?" [21:46] "Ya take 'er in she'll jus' do it again so soon as she gets out.. She tried ta beat one o' m'mates to death 'cause she's got it figa'd that bein' arrested means free room an' board.. Ah say lynch her, an' let 'er have free room an' board in hell." [21:46] * Ety`Woods grunts after her skull bounces right off the side of his, causing her to wince some as she continually jerks violently. [21:47] * NicoleKain turns looking at the women and man, rubs her head again it didnt hurt much but dang. "why pick my pockets?" shakes her "looked at the girl then back to the man "well.." she didnt know "if she promised not to do it again..let her go but if not then take her in" thinks again as she rubs her head "but maybe you should take her in i have a feeling she will do it again to someone else" [21:51] * Ety`Woods seemed unresponsive, having continued the jerking while Nicole had been speaking to the guard the entire time. Having the question posed to her formally by the guard, the woman would settle down for just a moment before jumping up, throwing her feet forward to push into the edge of the counter, then push off of it and back into the guard in an attempt to throw both of them back. [21:53] * NicoleKain makes a note to herself to hide her money some place else on her body, that way no one could find it. green eyes watching the man and the lady pick pocket, seeing this she could only guess that was a no. [21:53] * Baldisar releases the young woman as she does this but while she is in the air his eyes glow red and he casts a levatation spell hopefully causing the woman to float harmlessly [21:54] * Ety`Woods floated across the room. [21:55] * ChasingFire watches Ety float, and refrains the urge to use her as a kickball.. [21:57] * Baldisar grabs Ety bringing her to a stop but with her still floating in place so she can't hit anyone or move "so you promise no more theft? Otherwise I have to take you in and you will not see a magistrate till morning" [21:59] * NicoleKain turns looking at Bald "seems that one is fisty" laughs as she picks up her glass taing a few sips then replaced it back down on the table. "seems to me she is not wishing to behave herselfat all" shakes her head slowly as she grins [21:59] * Ety`Woods simply remained suspended in air, giving no physical or verbal response for the time being. The woman just relaxed her struggle while in mid-air to the point where she simply came to a full stop. [22:04] ok if you don't want to cooperate then I guess I'll run ya in, first we'll search you to see what you took from the lady [22:05] "Watch 'er now Baldi, she aint eva safe..." [22:06] * Baldisar takes out his manacles and cuffes her hands behind her back as she floats there and proceeds to attempt to find any pouches she has [22:06] * NicoleKain she was getting a slight headach from where she got boinked, man next time she will have to watch more carefully. green eyes shifted over to the other that spoke "she is dangerouse?" blinked her eyes quickly as her head lowers then looked back up with a tilt, red hair brushed over her bare shoulders. [22:06] * Ety`Woods dropped the wooden object that she had removed from Nicole's pocket. Assuming it wouldn't levitate, the toy would simply drop to the floor below. Nothing else can be found on her. [22:07] * Baldisar notes the toy and looks to nicole "is that what she took?" [22:09] * NicoleKain nods her head "yes that is all" but the wooden spider had onyx eyes. a gift for a neice back in her old lands. but she could get more "if she wanted it, she could have it. she didnt have to pick my pocket for it?" [22:10] * Baldisar allows the girl to the ground holding her by the cuffed arm and leads her out the door to the guard house [22:12] * NicoleKain watched Bal lead the girl off, shakes her head slowly then picks up her drink again. "i wonder what they are going to do with her?" she said out loudly, wonders if anyone might hear her voice and give an answer but if not she would talk to Bal on it. [22:14] "Probabla whip 'er ah good one an' let 'er back ta her ways.." [22:15] * NicoleKain she stands and heads out behind them [22:15] a courier enters out of breath and scans the room he walks to NicoleKain and says 1M'lady would you come with me [22:08] * Now talking in #Guardhouse [22:09] * Ety`Woods has joined #Guardhouse [22:11] * Baldisar enters the guardhouse leading Ety in manacles [22:11] * Ety`Woods is led it without incident. [22:13] * Baldisar notes Segovax and nods to the magistrate "I'm glad you are actually here magistrate, I just arrested this young Lady here attempting to pick another ladies pocket" [22:13] * Segovax awaited them, already seated wherever the judgements took place because I've forgotten where exactly ANYWAYS with a stick of coal and parchment to record the proceedings himself. He had the look and countenance of an unfriendly school master, all sharp and on in years. He was flanked by a bored-looking armsman. [22:14] * NicoleKain has joined #Guardhouse [22:15] * Ety`Woods looked to the magistrate as she stood before him, her hands still bound behind her back. [22:15] * NicoleKain slips in to hear what was going to happen. [22:15] the courier lead Nicole into the room [22:17] * NicoleKain looked over to Bal then back to Ety, shakes her head as she watched on. "whats going to happen?" she asked quietly [22:17] Magistrate Segovax the young lady I have bound here, in the inn a moment ago attemped to pick the pocket of the Lady that just entered by hitting her in the head and lifting items from her person [22:17] * Baldisar looks to Nicole "that is up to the magistrate here" [22:18] "Mm. I see." The severe-looking magistrate made a note on his parchment. He held up a hand; on it was a ring adorned by a blue stone. "This," he told Ety, "Will let me know if you are lying. Now, please, tell me your name, and give your story. I will then pass judgement--please keep quiet, Tespin," he told Nicole sharply. [22:19] * Ety`Woods didn't turn to acknowledge Nicole's presence or even glance at Baldisar as he spoke. Simply remained visual with the magistrate befoer her. "Ety Woods." She would answer, her voice hoarse. "It occured as he said." Ety would also add. [22:21] * Baldisar remains silent as ety talks to the magistrate [22:21] * NicoleKain nods her head slowly as she placed her hands in front of her. steps over to take the stone from the magisrrate, looked at the stone then back up "my name is Nicole Kain, on what happened was i was sitting at the bar drinking my whiskey sour, then for some reason im struck." turns looking over to Ety then back to him "by that lady over there" pointed over to Ety "then this man" motions to Bal next-> [22:21] cont-> " was trying to retrain her, asked me if i would have her locked up to relised. at first i wanted her relised if she proomised not to do it again. she tried to get away, so he froze her to check her pockets" <-end [22:22] * Baldisar looks to the magistrate, from what I have heard from other guards this is not the first time she has been arrested and warned about this behavior your honor [22:23] I am Spellsman Baldisar Kaliste, for the record your honor [22:27] The man in the black robes nodded once, made a few more notes. "I know who you are, Spellsman Kaliste," 6he said, offhand. "Hm. Your honesty, Tespin Woods, does you some credit in this case but if this this is, as the Spellsman says, one among many offences, I am afraid I cannot be so lenient in your punishment." More notes. "Spellsman, please have her flogged, ten lashes, and see that her hand is branded to mark her as a [22:27] --and see that her hand is branded to mark her as a thief. And then a public apology to Tespin Kain, here, should set things in order." [22:28] yes your honour I will see to it immediatly [22:29] "Oh, and Spellsman?" [22:29] yes your honour? [22:29] * NicoleKain green eyes looked back and forth between them, this was the first time she had to go to court. bitting on her lower lip, looked over to Ety then back to the men. holds up her hand to give back the stone in silence. [22:30] "Next time, chop her hand off." Letting that hang in the air, the magistrate rose from his chair and turned to leave, the still bored looking armsman following in his wake. [22:31] * Ety`Woods looked down to the floor, almost in frustration and disappointment to learn that she was to be punished without time, or a meal, in custody first. Nevertheless, she would say and do nothing other. [22:31] * NicoleKain looks back over to Bal "i guess i am no longer needed here?" [22:32] well that's that tespin woods if you would sit on the bench there for a moment 6if she does he will bind her hands to the wall using a chain between the manacles and the wall [22:32] * Baldisar looks to Nicole "no you are free to go" [22:32] * NicoleKain nods as she turns walking out the door. [22:33] * Ety`Woods slowly takes a seat, leaning her head back and closing her eyes as she does so. [22:34] * Segovax has left #guardhouse (This has been the People's Court. Court is adjourned.) [22:34] * Baldisar walks to a cabinet and returns with a rather nasty looking flog and a brand that he places in the hearth to begin heating, he then releases the chain between the manacles and the wall and says "tespin woods please rise and move to the center of the room" [22:35] as she does this he places a stool with no back on it there "please take a seat on the stool" [22:35] * Ety`Woods rises to her feet and does as she is instructed, opening her eyes in order to navigate herself to the center before stopping there and standing. Her eyes glaze over as she stares forward. [22:36] would you rather stand or sit on the stool? [22:37] or kneel [22:37] * Ety`Woods slowly dipped down to one knee, then slid the other down. That being her answer, the woman continued to face forward without further response. [22:39] * Baldisar proceeds to lash her 10 times as per the magistrates orders, he then gets the brand and releases the manacles "please hold out your right hand or place it on the stool" [22:41] * Ety`Woods buries her head within her right shoulder as she's lashed. The woman would take some time before slowly bringing her right hand, shaking almostly uncontrolablly, as she too was, and placed it upon the stool. Her eyes still closed, the woman's head remained against her right shoulder. [22:43] * Baldisar places the hot brand on her hand for several seconds to mark her as a theif then returns the brand to a stand to cool "tespin woods, I'm sorry I had to do this, you are free to go as soon as you can recover your composure, do not forget the magistrates warning, next time I am required to remove the hand" [22:46] * Ety`Woods lifted her head enough to bite down on her shoulder when the brand was applied. Her eyes closed tighter as the skin immeidately blistered from the heat. When it was taken away, she would simply remain in this position for some time until her muscles stopped shaking and she was able to stop biting down on her shoulder. As she slowly gathered herself once again, she would give a simple nod in response to Baldisar, her eye [22:46] Baldisar, her eyes still closed. [22:46] "Would you help lead me out of this place?" She would ask, her voice still hoarse. [22:47] I can do that where would you like to go? [22:48] "Just outside, I can gather myself enough there to find my way home." Her eyes would open some at this point as she rose to her feet. [22:49] * Baldisar helps her to her feet and leads her out to the sidewalk "you sure you are all right from here?" [22:49] And to let you know, that brand cannot be magically healed. It's forever. [22:50] * Ety`Woods is led outside onto the street, shaking her head as she slowly begins walking eastward. Her right hand is held firmly under her left shoudler and her back is slightly hunched forward from the flogging. I will to the best of my ability recall the actions and conversation of that night here: <> [22:48] He looked about at the inhabitants of the common room. Perhaps his skill in healing would be needed? He knew now he had missed something interesting, so he had to figure out something to do. "Anybody in need of a healer?" [22:48] * Lay`Trayin looked up at lance and raised her hand "aye we could use a healer over here" [22:50] 6He turned his head and walked to Lay. "All right, who needs healing?" He was stunned a bit by the rumble of the vortex, cursing he missed all the action somehow. [22:51] * Lay`Trayin windows at the rumbling and gives a faint cheer [22:54] He looked back and forth between the too. There was quite the severity between them, and he didn't know how well he could heal them inside the inn, but he had to at least give it a shot. "who needs it first?" [22:55] * Lay`Trayin waves a hand at Baldisar "heal him first as he is worse off than i am. my wounds are minor compared to his and be careful of his wing as i just set it." [22:57] He closed his eyes and spoke quietly to himself. If one listened closely they could hear the words that traveled to the grass outside the tavern, which would then give the message to the surrounding woods. Blue orbs of sizes ranging from nickle diameter to quarter diameter made there way through the wood of the tavern towards the body of Baldisar. [22:59] * Lay`Trayin moves back away from Baldisar and lance for the moment to let the healer do his job [22:59] As he concentrated, almost as if he were praying, he continued to speek in a hushed tone and he bowed his head in respect to the elemnt that granted him his power. The blue orbs would take turns striking into the body of Baldisar, each one carrying with it the odd healing ability that trees have to grow back there limbs. his wounds would slowly close over, bleeding stop, bones would reset with a small amount of pain [23:00] * Baldisar stirs as the orbs enter his body, he slowly opens his eyes and looks around the says softly "how'd I get here? last I remember we were at the triage station near the church" [23:02] * Lay`Trayin chuckles softly and still has the maniacl grin on her face that she gets each time she is in pain. She waves a hand at lance and speaks softly as baldi might have a headache the size of drache "I brought you here and this gentleman healed you" [23:03] * Lay`Trayin closed her eyes as she felt the healing and her grin slowly faded as her wounds healed up and left a general soreness through out her body [23:04] He looked back and forth after mentioning yet another thank you to the elementals that gave him his power. A sacrifice was in order for them. He spoke now in general to the both of them. "If perhaps you wish to pay me back in some way, I need my name out in the public as an assassin. My name is Lance. Remember it for me." [23:05] * Lay`Trayin also extands her hand towards lance and the guardswoman smiles warmly at him "thank you as well. i am Lay`Trayin ChasingFire" [23:06] He reached out his hand and took it. Ety Woods was arrested once again this eve (Dec. 18th) for theft. I was once again lucky enough that Magistrate Segovax was available to hear the case and punishment was handed down, in the form of removing the right hand of tespin Woods. The other interesting part of this report involves one man named Lance Lako. and I will recount that here to the best of my ability<>. As I was arresting Miss Woods< Mr Lako, the same Lance Lako I made the report on before for requesting I find him work as an assassin, stepped in and got extremely beligerent with myself and Spells Sgt Lay Trayin Chasingfire, who was on the scene as well, saying that the Guard was corrupt and making threats toward myself and Spells Sgt Trayin. as I left with the prisoner combat was begining between the Sgt and Mr. Lako. as to the remainder of that combat and how things were resolved before they came to the guard house would have to be asked of Sgt. Trayin as I was not in the Black Dragon Inn at the time of that. Appearently though with no injury to either of them it was resolved and they came to the trial. The victim in the case was very against punishment of Miss Woods but was peaceful, but voiced the fact he was not for this several times. I did at one point have to stop him from attempting to treat the lash marks of the previous night on Miss Woods, but when requested he backed off. Shortly thereafter I sent an armsman after the Magistrate and the proceedings began. Mr. Zatoichi (the victim) was allowed to pleade his case during the course of the proceedings. Approxamately 20 minutes after the actual proceedings began Sgt. Trayin and Mr. Lako arrived at the Guard house. Mr. Lako was stopped in the foyer as he would not give his wepons to to armsman on duty, but was allowed to listen from the foyer. As I was escorting Miss Woods to the chamber where her right hand was to be removed, and carrying out the orders to remove her hand Mr Lako became Violent. <> [23:47] 4 other armsmen move to surround lance as he continures screaming all with hands on their swords ready to draw [23:49] He spun and began to slice his way through the armsmen the way he did in past battles. The hell if he would be taken by NPCs! He made quick work of them. "Now I HAVE done something evil eh?! HAHA!" [23:52] * Baldisar says to the armsmen and healers "if she is not strong enough to move have her put into a cell for tonight until she is" [23:53] * Baldisar walks out of the room "Lance you do not want to do this" [23:53] * Lay Trayin looks to Baldisar and nods "i have already told him so but he draws his weaponsanyways" [23:53] the other 30 armsmen in the room would all draw wepons at that point and Baldisars eyes would begin to glow [23:55] He laughed a bit as he looked at the fallen armsmen around him. "Goodmorrow!" He would then run out of the guardhouse...not really being that far in as he was stopped right at the enterance because he didn't remove his weapons. The second his foot touched the grass outside he would disappear with the new trick he learned just the night previous. He travelled through the elements. [23:56] * Lay Trayin sighs as lance disappears and looks to Baldisar "looks like our would be assassin is now wanted for murder of crown officials" Sgt Trayin and myself have been informed by another witness the Mr. Lako returned to the Black Dragon Inn and began to talk to 2 people (at this point the descriptions of Spooka and Vulspeth Trezner would be given) and the lady I just described gave Mr. Lako a ring of polymorph. I would still like to play that char as it's my only one... Kirin`Arnise Arms Sergeant temporarily inactive due to iraq.. I've done a couple of short stories and drawings if you want them.. ask for getting ideas to improve things.. the only suggestion would be having a simple rule for all guards.. role play and lead by example not playing guards because they're somehow above the law.. one major flaw I saw with only a few individuals... Nothing but respect for you all, and believe it or not..
