Leon Chaser offered his assistance and the three went off to rescue the guard. After being taken to a dank cave with many perils they finally won their way thru and entered the cave where the guard was held and Rothar_Draikin had made his escape. Arms-Recruit Juno had had her shoulder damaged as well as both hands flayed with a brand having been placed above her breast. Juno was also naked when the rescuers arrived but Lay sent Leo for some clothes for the smaller woman When he returned she shadow stepped them from the cave to the edge of the forest. When Armsman Thohg arrived, the creature was swinging Drayson through the air, already having beaten him; Armsman Thohg got the creatures attention, and the monster hurled Drayson through the air at Thohg and retreated. As i tried to get more information a vorfon (insert desc of Rosuto`Enzeru) intruded and ignored repeated requests by myself to cease intefering in matters of the guard. The vorfon ignored me and set about trying to carry the woman to where Ravyn and Leo had said they could help get the band with inward facing spikes off her leg. I managed to get one shackle on the vorfon and he still tried to drag me acorss the room until i used a freeze spell to halt his forward motion. Once i had manacled his legs i procedded to start to carry him out the door towards the guardhouse. Thinking the vorfon would be more amenable and reduce his charges i released the spell holding him frozen and he proceeded to assault me with his elbows until i had slammed him to the ground hoping to subdue him and bring him in for justice. He refused once more and i drew my sword hoping he would desist and follow my commands but he drew his own weapons and fought me as well as Arms-Lieutenant Garthlik. After long battle we were finally able to subdue him and cuff him up so that he could be brought in for trial. So, as a keeper of the peace, I went to investigate the source of the complaint. Upon entering, I saw one child (Tarevyce) firing headless arrows at the other child, and this other child (Loki') was casting magic upon the bowyer. I requested that they cease their actions, to which I was insulted and asked for my badge in exchange for peace. Royal Guard Juno then casted a hold person spell on the bowyer suspect, while I tried to talk the magic-user into standing down. A strange sort of tussle ensued, in which he casted a dispell against my attempt to cast hold person upon him. After a brief altercation, in which the bowyer ran into the bathroom when the spell wore off, I had the magic-user handcuffed. A moment later the other boy came out with his handcuffs broken, but he seemed severely weakened. I fastened a new set of handcuffs on the lad and transported them both to the guardhouse. I've charged them both with resisting arrest and disobeying a crown official, with the added fine of escaping custody upon the bowyer. They are to be held at the guardhouse until their guardians come to pick them up and pay their fines. After placing cuffs on the man (desc and pic of Sevrin in human form included.) he pulled away from me and tried to back away. i tried to tackle the man and he managed to get the chains from the cuffs around my neck and started to choke me. As i battled with the man to try to subdue him to bring in for arrest he continued to chock me with the cuffs and managed to bite off half my left ear. From my understanding from witnesses there was another there as well that seemed to be goading the one i was fighting to arrest on to disobey me (desc and pic of Bryscen attached to the report). The one i was trying to arrest finally choked my until i was unconscious and i was saved from death by the help of witnesses Lucien ChasingFire and Evan Shingeru who had joined the fray to help me get free when the man had the chains of the shackles wrapped around my neck trying to kill me. AS i was being carried away by Lucien to safety i noted an armored(desc and pic attached) figure following and trying to stop Lucien from getting me to safety. He would not stand down and, as a result, Armsman Thohg (who had arrived at the scene a moment before) shot him with a crossbow in an attempt to paralyze his movement. He rushed Thohg and used some sort of lightning attack upon him. Arms-recruit Juno and I then joined the fray, but just when it seemed we might catch our man, the undead thing and an accomplice (Polaris is the accomplice, Devotion the undead thing) flew in and took him off. Spell-recruit Tyrelle gave pursuit to the fleeing assailiant while Arms-recruit Thomas stayed to talk with the victim, who was attempting to shoot his assailiant with a crossbow. The criminal dropped a smoke-producing potion upon a tabletop as she fled, effectively blocking Tyrelles' paralysis wand through sheer luck. Tyrelle gave chase as the assailant darted down an alleyway, whereupon she dropped an explosive device which rendered Spell-recruit Tyrelle unconscious and injured. Message-ID: <42725BBD.4020503@arangoth.org> The ops have receieved a few complaints lately (some with merit, some without) about guards appearing out of nowhere and intervening in scenes. I don't think it's an epidemic problem that requires drastic action, but I do want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of what I wrote in the Guard primer file: "If your Guard PC is not currently in the inn, ask the parties involved in private msg if they would object to a Guard showing up on the scene. An exception to this is if another character playing in the inn sends for a Guard to handle the situation. In that case, your PC should respond." It only takes a few seconds to ask whether somebody minds if a Guard shows up, and it can help to avoid a lot of hard feelings in the end. As a channel op, part of the job means making sure that people enjoy playing in BDI, which involves balancing conflicting interests at times. I'm not advocating allowing random smirking villains to run roughshod in the channel, but sometimes, people want to resolve things themselves among their characters without the Guard conveniently arriving to restore order. As I said, it's not a huge problem, and I'm not singling anybody out, but please keep it in mind to ask before intervening if your character isn't IC when something happens in the inn. Message-ID: <722da6ac05042921429d1750f@mail.gmail.com> Ivette Duxe was fined ten crowns, whipped twenty times, and spent the night in jail for assaulting Cormllenaa, an elfin priest who resides at the Royal Church. She was also branded on her right hand for thievery. Snow- was fined five crowns, spent the night in jail, and flogged twenty times for assualt on a citizen, assault on a crown official (Sergeant Lay Trayin) and resisting arrest. The punishments were overseen by Magistrate Lachlan Brewer and are to be carried out at dawn. (This was my first time doing trials, so I hope I did them right.) -- -Kel
