I apologize for the delay of this report as I have been unable to perform duty due to my injuries sustained while attempting to apprehend an escaped felon...

The attempted apprehension led to extreme violence as the criminal was armed with a loaded crossbow which was fired in my direction. The bolt passed through but was coated with a poisonous substance from which I have recovered.
The second injury I sustained was from a razor sharp wire he wore affixed to a bracer type object on his forearm..This caused a most greivous wound on my back, severing tissue to the bone in some places..It is this injury that hinders my activity.

I would ask the criminal be taken alive and I would further like to inquire about examination of this wire apparatus he wears..It intrigues me..

When I recover from said injuries I will return to full active duty.Until then I am residing at Maguire's Apothecary with one Grae Maguire.

There was also a short note for Captain Von Stahl, singing the praises of Merin Bithsbane who apprently single handedly took down four theives outside a brothel int he Red Lantern District with small help form his female companion, Recruit Tejene Gathai.

Four NPC robbers were arrested by the new recruits.

The report is filed in the elegant, smooth handwriting of an elvish hand:

"An unindentified inhuman Unnatural entity and five accomplice inhuman 
creatures attempted to break into a magic shop in the Red Lantern District.  
Recruits Bithsbane and Gathai investigated after a suspicious-sounding 
scream drew them to the location.  The source of the scream was never 
ascertained, but the subhumans immediately attacked under the direct 
supervision of the Unnatural.  It appeared to be attempting to steal several 
items of magical design including a few weapons, books, and artifacts.  
These items were successfully recovered.  The accomplice creatures were 
subsequently destroyed in the ensuing conflict, four by Recruit Gathai 
alone.  Recruit Bithsbane destroyed the last and injured their Unnatural 
leader before it was forced to flee the scene.  Samples of the creatures 
were taken from the corpses.  These have been submitted for analysis.  The 
leader Unnatural who professed to have no name managed to escape, but was 
wounded perhaps fatally.  A sample of its blood is also enclosed.  
Respectfully request an analysis of the creature's nature or origin.  
Recruit Gathai was injured in the conflict by a blow to the head.  She was 
promptly attended to and seems to be recovering well.

Recruit Tejene Gathai was about to go off duty when she was called to the blkdragon inn to deal with a disturbance. There was a scuffle between an overamorous monkey pirate Crimson Buccaneer (Scar) and some sort of preacher Nighten (Peter), I proceeded to arrest both for creating a disturbance and cuffed them to each other. A scuffle followed during which I was injured, beaten and bruised.

Magistrate Ketara Lyon arrived at the inn and tried to intervene. She was grabbed by Nighten and stabbed. I shot Nighten in the shoulder with an arrow, pinning him to the floor and cuffed his wrist to his ankle. I then sent for a cart to take both him and the monkey wench to a cell at the guardhouse.  

The charges are Disturbing the Peace, Drunk and Disorderly for Crimson Pirate. Assaulting a Guard, Attempted Murder of a Public Official and Wounding with Intent for Nighten.

I found a healer to tend to Magistrate Lyon, she is resting in a room at the blkdragon inn.

I was dining in the blkdragon inn with recruit Merin Bithsbane prior to my guard duty today when I caught sight of a man who appeared unwell. He was being cornered by a pale woman and I approached them, concerned. My words to them seemed to stop what was happening and the man fled. But I fear the female could pursue him to his detriment. Recruit Bithsbane detected magics involved in the man's condition.  (Description of man called Shelvinarr and pale fae in white dress and unnaturally beautiful, Imatra.)

Last eve I was attacked by a fearsome creature.  I had been sitting enjoying a cup of tea with my ladyfriend and this little two foot tall greenish creature came in and started attacking someone.  It had a long whiplike tail, was eyeless with odd hairs where eyes would normally be, and had a pointed snout with two or three rows of teeth, and was armless with two legs.  Its tail was obviously poisoned as I was poisoned from it before the beast escaped.  We must capture one in order to study its weaknesses as I suspect there is a hive of them about.

Today I was attacked by what I think was an adult version of it.  I was patrolling with an armsman and it was a fourlegged bluegrey creature.  I got away but it escaped carrying my patrolmate.  This one had four arms and two legs although the tail was rather negligable compared to its younger counterpart.  This one was six feet tall.  Both of them had exoskeletons that were hard to penetrate whish is the reason both managed to escape in my opinon.

Keep your eyes peeled.

half the hour of two of the clock before dawn, I, one
Armsman Art Harlow, did encounter a shifty fellow.
(Prisoner in Cell 5)

Said fellow did approach me with a bollocks story of
Magistrate Lyons and fiends plotting against a
citizen, with witness to said crime locked up in the
clinky with impending sentencing on his head. With
intent of ensuring I was hearing him correctly I
allowed him to speak on, and he attempted to suggest
that I should assist his person in assisting unnamed
plotted against citizen. Said fellow produced a bag of
unknown contents, which was removed by myself to room
21 at the BlkDragon Inn, with said personage. I
advised him as to his arrest, whenceforth he resisted
arrest, and he was summarily secured for transport
back to the guardhouse.

Magistrate Lyons was encountered on my way out of the
Inn with said fellow, and agreed to observe the
evidence and removal therof which I sent
(Randomguards) to. 

After leaving said fellow with the cellguard on duty,
I removed myself from service one hour past my shift's
end and returned home.

late. Had work!)

Apologies for the brevity with which this was written
and my lack of information. Upon visiting the Black
Dragon Inn at a very early hour this morning, I
encountered an Armsman who had just made an arrest of
a person who had apparently attempted to bribe the
noble guard whilst slandering my own name. As per the
Armsman's request, I approached the twenty-first room
of the Black Dragon with the intent of keeping an eye
on the evidence of bribery until (randomguards)
arrived, only to have my person blown against a wall,
pinned by the room's door which had been ripped from
its hinges by an explosion in the room. Enclosed with
this report is a strip of wood from said door coated
with melted silver and a piece of leather - both
presumably from the bag holding the intended bribe.
Unfortunately, given the protective nature of the Inn,
that is all wich remains of the original evidence.

Tonight in the Inn there was an altercation between Arms-Sergeant Makaiki
and the demon known as Jah Kahn. From what the Arms-Sergeant says, the demon
simply started attacking her and then teleported the two outside where a
second demon waited, by the name of Calibur. A fight started and
reinforcements happened to show up in the persons of Arms Corporal Thorn
Brightblade, Corporal Lachlan Brewer and Armsman Ter`im`iid. It seemed that
Jah Kahn had a grudge to grind against Arms-Sergeant Makaiki, and a fight
ensued. I showed up shortly after that.

All involved managd to subdue Jah Kahn by encasing him in ice. (location
dictatd here) In the ensueing melee Arms Corporal Thorn Brightblade, Armsman
Ter`im`iid, Arms-Sergeant Makaiki and myself were injured. Thorn lost a
hand, Makaiki numerous bruses scrapes and internal injuries, Armsman
Ter`im`iid collapsed due to minor wounds and overwhelming psychic
exhaustion. My own wounds are detailed later in this report.

The other demon, known only as Calibur, managed to escape, but all involved
managed to show a refreshing bravery and determination, up to and incliding
the loss of Arms Corporal Thorn Brightblade's soul, because of Jah Kahn's
wish to replace the soul Corporal Lachlan Brewer removed from him.  (Arms
Corporal Thorn Brightblade is on the mend as we speak thanks to Corporal
Lachlan Brewer's own personal determination)

Last evening, while on patrol, I was retrieved by
staff from the Black Dragon Inn, where I chanced to
interrupt a fight in progress.

By the time I got there, one participant (insert
description of Siger Thunderpride here) had since
left, but two (insert descriptions of Katarn and Slade
here) were still embroiled.

It is apparently not the first time that a fight has
been started by the man described above. (Description
of Katarn)

After spoiling (Katarn)'s chance to kill (Slade),
(Katarn) , who had been prepared to stab (Slade),
teleported by way of the shadow realms. I cast a spell
to dispel all shadows in the inn, but he did not
reappear. (Slade) left before I could question him
and, after a time and no reappearances of aught, I
questioned the staff to get information about the
combatants, garnering the above informationt hat
(Katarn) is a repeat offender and has tried to stab a
number of people.

Subject: [Royal Guard] A report to Captain Von Stahl

Hastily penned in a very unsteady handwriting, but at least the 
Arms-Sergeant had learnt how to write in common... sort of.  Right?  Anyway, 
it ends up in the pile of other reports, to be dealt with eventually.

"Sir,

I was in the inn that is the Black Dragon while off duty, when some persons 
entered and there was trouble.  One human <Insert awkward description of 
Katarn, which she finally gives up trying to write and just resorts to a 
rough sketch>, named of Katarn, had apparently stabbed and almost killed 
another humanoid, name of Wyatt, and broke the arm of a third, Rixx.

Not the first time this Katarn has sought trouble with the guard - Before 
the fight with the demons, he was the one I was trying to arrest, on charges 
of stealing souls.  I would request a bounty be placed, if you see fit to do 
so.
