A letter delivered to the guardhouse this morning, signed and sealed.

"To whom it may concern:
  Yesterday, I received word that my father has contracted a deadly illness, and is not expected to live until the next moon.  I am hereby requesting emergency leave to return to Hornath-ul-Marfed and attend to family business.  I hope to return to active duty within a moon's time.  Thank you.
